Angelolli Asks Jennifer Tai
Who are you and what do you do?
I'm Jennifer Tai and I'm a wedding and family photographer based in Seattle.
Because it's so much more fun :) I am grateful that we have the resources that allow me the freedom to pursue a creative life.
How did you get started in photography?
It all started when I had kids. Before that, it was all product and event photography for my work (used to be a writer). When kids came along, I began to photograph them in earnest and discovered I had a talent for it. A nice surprise!
What are your idiot-proof tips when it comes to photography?
Firstly, learn to use your camera. Secondly, learn to see light. Thirdly, take pictures everyday!
What were some of the best advice anyone ever gave you?
To read Bryan Peterson's Understanding Exposure. Changed my life!
What is on your current lust list?
A Canon 1dMarkiv and a 27-inch iMac!
What would you like to see more of in the world?
Compassion and honesty.
Who inspires you and why?
My kids. They teach me more about myself than anyone else.
What are you working on now?
I am working on my business! Running a business is way harder than I thought it would be.
Which creative souls blow your mind away?
Some photographers on Flickr. These are not well paid photographers but people who have learnt the craft on their own and excelled tremendously.
