The quilt that I never finished

I was looking in my fabric stash and found this!

I did this while studying in NZ aeons ago; I think it was my second quilt. I wanted to make a bedspread for myself. It took me months. The whole thing was sewn by hand as I hadn't learnt how to use a machine. There were a lot of appliques, which took up a lot of time.

It is still unfinished; the backing isn't done. Should I finish it? I don't like the design now... it's a little too country and not quite enough rock 'n' roll:P

Perhaps I could use it as a background for the kids' stage show.

You can see she has my penchant for drama.

Lauren doesn't quite know what to make of it.

Perhaps I should just salvage the centre garland...

...and design a new bedspread out of it. Something that has a lot more rock 'n' roll in it.

You can perhaps cut out the squares around the edges and use them as cushion covers?

I say use it as the stage backdrop! I can imagine this fluttering in the wind when you hang it out to dry! So Anne of Green Gables! or issit Gabels?

It's a beautiful quilt. You should just finish it. You will find the perfect place for it some day and be glad you have it. I have a couple quilts sitting waiting for a reason to finish I'm sure it will happen.

Backdrop! That's the word I was looking for! Background...sheesh! Thanks, you guys, for all your lovely comments. I think there'll be a future blog post about the quilt that time forgot, once I decide what to do with it:P I don't think I could bring myself to sell it...nostalgia, baby!:)
